JON EPSTEIN, Ph.D.

New York Times and coffee—that is how Jon starts his day. He looks for news to connect to student learning.

As a thirty-year veteran middle and high school teacher, as well as ten-year instructor in management and leadership communication at the university level, Dr. Epstein is passionate about developing methods to help students achieve strong analytical writing skills and to train professionals to communicate more effectively. The three times STAR teacher is the originator, developer, and founder of the Integrated Writing Program, and its essential model, the ECCO Map. He has implemented the program at Marietta City Schools, throughout the high school, including to students in IB, ESOL, SPED, and across all subjects. His goal is to encourage students to write stronger using what they know, to help teachers include more writing in their classrooms no matter the subject they teach, and to help school systems teach writing more efficiently.
