Entire School Based Approach that meets the needs of all students

Dr. Epstein, in a classroom setting, can use the criteria and learning objective of any class, and meet them through the ECCO Map technique. After the teacher and the class work through the assignment together under Dr. Epstein’s instruction, the teacher will be able to teach the same lesson to the next class that walks through the door. The more kids are exposed throughout the school and system, the easier this process becomes.

Small Local Classes to serve the community

Dr. Epstein's writing instruction will begin August 15th. 8 consecutive Sundays 3-4pm ending Oct 3rd. Open to students entering grades 7-10. Class size is limited to 8 students.

Twice a year, in January and August, small classes meet for in-person training and instruction. Students develop their skills in writing through the ECCO Map template, and practice argumentative, informational, explanatory, and narrative writing that they can expect to receive in high school.

Classes meet for eight one-hour sessions. Class size is capped at ten students to allow customized feedback and to meet specific needs. This August, students entering grades 7-10 will be invited to attend. In January, students in grades 9-12 can attend. These sessions include the writing of the college application essay.

Small Group Tutoring via Zoom for students anywhere in the world

Dr. Epstein runs small group Zoom sessions on Sunday afternoons. In these weekly sessions, students pair with grade and age level students to develop interpretative and deductive skills through classic literature and extensive writing. Classes last an hour and are designed to be fun and interactive. These classes range from 2-5 students. The classes build around the students’ curriculum needs while also providing more rigorous expectations regarding reading and writing.

Consulting with individual schools to set up an Integrated Writing Program

Dr. Epstein is available in a limited capacity for consulting appointments. The IWP is not a program that will have sustained success unless it is woven into the fabric of the institution. This takes time, buy-in, demonstration, and practice. Nonetheless, a 10 or 20 day on-site consultation can lay the framework for a successful program.
